Aðgangur ókeypis

Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands stendur fyrir tónskáldaspjalli við Önnu Þorvaldsdóttur, staðartónskáldi hljómsveitarinnar, í tilefni
 af frumflutningi á Íslandi á verkinu Metacosmos eftir Önnu síðar um kvöldið. Verkið var pantað af Fílharmóníuhljómsveitinni í New
York og flutt undir stjórn Esa-Pekka Salonen í apríl síðastliðnum og er það þegar komið á efnisskrá hjá mörgum helstu hljómsveitum heims, m.a. Fílharmóníusveit Berlínar, Sinfóníuhljómsveitinni í San Francisco, Fílharmóníusveit Helsinki og Sinfóníuhljómsveitinni í Winnipeg. Þetta er einstakt tækifæri til að fá að kynnast tónskáldinu og fá innsýn í tilurð Metacosmos.

The Iceland Symphony Orchestra is holding a Conversing with the Composer event featuring composer-in-residence Anna Thorvaldsdóttir. Thorvaldsdóttir will talk about her new work, Metacosmos, which will receive its Icelandic premiere by the Iceland Symphony during the Dark Music Days festival. Commissioned by the New York Philharmonic and performed last April under the baton of Esa-Pekka Salonen, Metacosmos is already on the roster of many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the San Francisco Symphony, the Helsinki Philharmonic, and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. This is an extraordinary opportunity to get to know the composer and gain insight into Metacosmos and how it came into being.
